Frequently Asked Questions

How does a manual stacker work?

Pre-operation Inspection

  • Hydraulic System Check: Ensure the manual hydraulic pump (hand lever or foot pedal) operates smoothly with no oil leakage.
  • Fork Condition: Confirm forks are free from deformation and cracks, and are positioned horizontally.
  • Wheels and Brakes: Check that wheels move freely and brake function is normal (if equipped).
  • Load Limits: Verify the maximum load capacity on the equipment nameplate (typically ≤2 tons) and never exceed the rated capacity.

Manual Stacker Operating Procedures

(1) Loading Goods

  • Adjust fork width: According to pallet or cargo width, manually pull apart or close together the forks (adjustable on some models).
  • Insert into pallet: Push the stacker forks horizontally into the bottom of the pallet, ensuring complete insertion with the cargo’s center of gravity positioned centrally.

(2) Lifting Goods

  • Operate hydraulic pump:
    • Hand lever type: Pump the hand lever up and down to raise the forks through the hydraulic system.
    • Foot pedal type: Repeatedly press the pedal until the forks reach the target height.
  • Control lifting height: Operate slowly to prevent sudden elevation that could cause cargo tilting.

(3) Handling and Movement

  • Push the stacker: Grip the handle with both hands and smoothly push the equipment to the target location (pay attention to floor levelness and avoid obstacles).
  • Steering: Control direction through the handle, slow down when turning to prevent cargo swaying.

(4) Unloading and Lowering

  • Position at unloading point: Align the cargo with the stacking position or rack.
  • Release hydraulic pressure: Slowly turn the hydraulic valve (usually located near the handle), allowing the forks to descend at a steady rate.
  • Withdraw forks: After confirming the cargo is stable, horizontally pull out the stacker.

Manual Stacker Safety Precautions

  • Maintain Stability: Keep cargo close to the fork backrest during handling to prevent center of gravity displacement.
  • No Personnel Carrying: Manual stackers are for cargo handling only and must not be used as lifting platforms for people.
  • Slope Operations:
    • Uphill: Push forward with cargo positioned at the rear.
    • Downhill: Pull backward to prevent loss of control.
  • When Parking: Lower forks to the lowest position to avoid tripping hazards.

Maintenance Regular

  • Lubrication: Apply lubricating oil to moving parts such as wheel axles and hydraulic rods.
  • Clean Hydraulic System: Prevent dust from clogging hydraulic valves.
  • Inspect Seals: If hydraulic pump pressure is insufficient, seal components may be aged and require replacement.

Manual stackers are simple to operate, but require attention to stability and load balance. Once proficient, they can significantly improve handling efficiency.
